Based on the original 1992 script by Bernard Rose and Clive Barker. Clive Barker's villains tend to confront and negotiate with the victim rather than following the route of a standard slasher. With this in mind, the goal was to create a sense of dread with enclosed and fractured shots to create a feeling of isolation and paranoia.
